Update Log #2 June 12th, 2025

Howdy gamers, thanks for reading.

For Update 2, made some small changes. I updated the spelling of around 15 species so that they are actually spelled correctly, like Belluvaraptor . If you find a species that is spelled incorrectly, please let me know via commenting/discord dm, it's very helpful to hear feedback.

ATM Mobile still has a bad layout, and my playtesters have had issues accidentally pressing the reset button. I might add a Confirm prompt for resetting and giving up if I can, my HTML is not amazing so that might take a while. So sorry mobile gamers, you are tricky to format </3

You guys can use the comments to suggest different game modes you'd like to play too, such as picking only Fliers to name, or Terrestrials. Various parameters that would narrow how many creatures you want to try to name, or just reorder them to your preference. ATM I don't really know how to code that in, but I will research it for sure. I am thinking I can just define some variables for each species, like if it is a flier or aquatic, and then add a button to toggle the orders. I will see :>

I will say, the way I coded the quiz is all HTML, and I made a nice Div where I can just add in future species in the right spot alphabetically in their proper tier, and it will just update the whole grid nicely. So future COS updates will be integrated easily! That should mean some short update logs usually.

I've also thought about hints or shadow outlines. It seems doable to do shadows, but just a lot of tedious work to manually black out each image. If that is something anyone wants to see, leave a comment and let me know! Happy playing!
